International Baccalaureat (IB) Status

Exciting news!  Range View's application for International Baccalaureat (IB) PYP candidacy status has been approved effective July 1, 2011.

What is a Trailblazer Dad?

Trailblazer Dads  -  Supporting the Journey!
A Trailblazer Dad is someone who wishes to volunteer his time assisting students, staff, and the overall environment at Range View Elementary School.  We welcome dads, grandfathers, uncles, etc.  The time commitment can be scaled for each individual depending on your schedule.  This is a chance for you to make a real difference in the lives of our students.

2011-2012 Elementary Early Release Dates/Times

This year all elementary schools will have an early release on the following Mondays:

September 19
October 3
November 7
December 5 & 19
February 6
March 5 & 19
April 16
May 7

On these days school will run on an adjusted schedule as follows:

• AM kindergarten:  8:05  -  10:20 a.m.
• PM kindergarten:  11:15 a.m.  -  1:30 p.m.
• Full-day kindergarten and grades 1 - 5:  8:05 a.m.  -  1:30 p.m.

PTAC

During the May 15th meeting we will be looking for parents interested in helping to serve on, or head, one of our volunteer committees.  This meeting will explain in greater detail what is needed and seek nominations for various positions.

2012/2013 School Year Information

 

The first day of school for all students except Preschool and Kindergarten will be Tuesday, August 14, 2012.  Students are to report as follows:

 

Preschool:

 

         Orientation  -  Tuesday, August 21, 2012

              Please note that orientation is one hour only with students and parents.

                        Morning students/parents                 9:00 a.m.  -  10:00 a.m.

                        Afternoon students/parents  1:00 p.m.  -  2:00 p.m.

 

            Preschool begins  -  Wednesday, August 22, 2012

                        Morning students            8:05 a.m.  -  10:50 a.m.

                        Afternoon students        12:05 p.m.  -  2:50 p.m.

 

Kindergarten:

 

            Orientation  -  Tuesday & Wednesday, August 14 & 15, 2012

Kindergarten teachers will be scheduling individual appointments to meet with parent(s) and student.

 

            Kindergarten beings  -  Thursday, August 16, 2012

                        Full-day students            8:05 a.m.  -  2:55 p.m.

                        Morning students            8:05 a.m.  -  11:05 a.m.

                        Afternoon students        11:55 a.m.  -  2:55 p.m.

 

First through Fifth Grade:

 

         School begins Tuesday, August 14, 2012   -   8:05 a.m. to 2:55 p.m.

            Bus students are dismissed at 2:50 p.m.

MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT

 

All Range View students and parents/families are invited to attend “Meet the Teacher Night” on Thursday, August 9^th from 4:00-5:30 p.m.  Join us for a hotdog dinner on the playground, drop off supplies in the classroom if you wish, and meet the teacher.

 

ACADEMIC ORIENTATION

 

Academic Orientation will be held on Tuesday, August 21^st from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for all parents of our kindergarten through fifth grade students.  We ask that you arrange for childcare, as this is an evening for grownups.  Teachers will be sharing valuable information in regard to curriculum, discipline, grading, and expectations, as well as answering any questions you might have about the upcoming year.

Message from Nutrition Services Department

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!  As a reminder, Mealtime On-line is now available for families to deposit money to their child's lunch account.  You can view your child's lunch balance and even sign-up for an email notification when it is time to make a new deposit.  Please visit the Nutrition Services department on our website for more details.
